Argentina may be able to support it...
but my daughter is currently on a mission there and while futbol is very popular, there are a lot of very poor people (she is outside of Buenos Aires in a northern city called Posadas near Paraguay and Brazil).

I think 24 should be the cap for now and the lower English leagues have that many and do fine. I don't like seeing a lot of empty stadiums and there are still too many in the MLS from what I see, but I think it's getting better (you probably have better visibility to that) with the better talent coming here every year. I want to see the MLS do well, but if it succeeds too much, I will be priced out of my tickets here in Portland. Already they have over 5k people on the waiting list (they say almost 10k, but I question that) and could probably increase prices 25% if they wanted to without losing too many (I currently pay about $900 for 2 season tickets in the upper section on the north end next to the army and would still pay twice that to go, but don't tell Merritt Paulson).
