In July, I'd go to Bryce Canyon or go up to Yellowstone or the Sawtooths.
Zion and Canyonlands will probably be 100 degrees plus in July. That's bad for outdoorsy people, for people who don't usually do the outdoors stuff, that's downright intolerable.
