I think the church has been pretty vocal about it's support for LGBT rights for some time. Even before prop 8 but too many people can only see the negative side of that campaign, which is why we only hear about how we are so close-minded. I have never seen marriage as anything but a religious institution between a man and a woman. One of the big problems I see is the governements involvement in offering tax incentives to those who are married as apposed to those who are not. Let alone visitation rights, life/health insurance policies, etc. I fully support traditional mariage but I am not so blind as to not see the inadequacies of our current laws as far as the benefits provided to some and not others.
