seperated from off the field issues? There seem to be so many people that I really love because they played ball at BYU but I never knew what they thought. As a fan why do I care what they think now? As a Fan I want to see these guys do well in life and there should be a unconditional open door policy to the program for those who used to play at BYU unless you now coach at a team we play.
But if you have an axe to grind because your kid isn't being recruited or isn't offered or because you were fired, that is a you problem. The program needs to work overtime to make sure that doesn't keep you from being a forever member of BYU lore. Brandon Doman for example IMO he is not welcome as a coach at BYU, but as a former player I expect nothing but open arms to him. I think part of the problem is you have a legacy (players) coach and a current coach and the old players are not getting the love that the old guy used to have for the players.
It is a hard thing to deal with.
