sure it sucks to be left out and watch "little brother" (now big brother) move on without us, but if we went 11-1 or 12-0 last year we would have been NY6 bowling and no one would care what utah was doing. people start focusing on OTHER things like utah, firesides, etc because there isn't anything good to focus on, on the field. that is the problem.

winning solves everything...literally. even a lowly independent BYU will be ok if it wins. 8-5 is suicide as an indy. 8-5 in P5 is ok b/c you have the comfort blanket of membership, but BYU has to win and win now. what utah does is irrelevant.

P5 is huge but there are like 64 other P5 schools and we are jealous of them all equally, just like we are jealous of utah's inclusion. the discontent, as you say, focusing on utah, ends there. except of course, when we play and get beat by them, that kind of stirs the pot again.
