people discount as not being an issue. He talked about how limited BYU is to the LDS kids. How the LDS experience isn't a selling point anymore because of how strong the church is everywhere now. He specifically talked about how much of an impact the Education level of BYU hurts it with football recruits. Campus full of 3.8+ gpa students makes it tough for recruits to get in, succeed, and fit in. Many times he mentioned how Utah can recruit anyone, but BYU can't. BYU is limited.
Most of the issues he mentioned are BYU issues, not Bronco issues.
He also gave a good point on why Bronco might not be fielding all phone calls and contacts. Says there are so many politics at BYU of people expecting their kid/friend/potential recruit to get the scholarship offer that he may be just cutting everyone off. I'm probably not explaining that exactly how he explained it. Interesting possibility. Who knows if it's true or if that is an oversimplified and one sided view.
