When I bought my last car, I refused to step foot in the dealership until I had
the deal I wanted before going in, but it wasn't easy. Most dealers refused to talk specifics or to give a price without me first going to the dealership. It took me a good month to get to the price I wanted, and when they finally agreed (last day of the month at 5PM), I went to the dealership. Of course, they then tried their darndest to get me to buy all kinds of extras and add-ons, and I finally had to tell the salesman to quit asking me the same questions over and over to which I had already told him no.

It was a process, but I got a great price.
