To me part of the fun factor of the watch is the look of the face, if it only turns on when you raise your arm due to battery constraints to me that is a negative from an asthetics perspective. With most smart watches being the same way it's difficult to differentiate one from the other. If battery is a constant worry for me throughout the day and I run out or that's always weighing on me and affects my usage I'd punt on it. I'd look at spending 400.00 on it I wouldn't pay more for the middle tier watch just for sapphire crystal and stainless steel. Citizen has similar materials and they don't charge that much more for them. To me the fitness functions of this watch with heart rate monitor are interesting and the sweet spot Apple is also trying to appeal to luxury watch people who I don't see really buying it those buyers are into a unique watch not one that many people have.
