I just looked at the WCC All Academic team and I was impressed with the majors and post graduate degrees of the players. Only Gonzaga had the typical Sports Management (Kanowski) and Pangos (Physical Education) majors that you see so often for athletes. Luke Worthington made the list and his major is Economics. Thomas van der Mers gets special mention for a 3.95 GPA with a degree in Operations and Technical Management (not sure what that is) and an MBA. Bottom line is these kids are taking the education made available to them seriously and you have to appreciate that fact.
