Low Book Sales focuses on bad-credit buyers that aren't savvy enough to care about the purchase price and only care about how low their car payment is. They probably don't have any incentive to make a good deal with someone that knows how much they want to spend.

Car Max focuses on an easy buy/sell process and lowest price isn't the first priority. You pay for a strong trade-in program and a nice facility.
