I'm afraid there just isn't enough there for the coaches to give him a look. There are literally thousands of kids that have proven skills better than what he has to show. That's not to say he isn't a diamond in the rough, but in the absence of game film or the coaches seeing him firsthand, he doesn't exist. D1 football is not just the next step out of HS, D1 is for the best of the best. The next step for him IF football is his dream is a JC. Prove he has what it takes to succeed, then step up to D1.
If he hasn't decided between track and football, then he should go with track. D1 football is not something you decide to try after your senior season. (freaks of nature excluded) He would have to commit fully to football and spend time at a JC honing his skills year round. Players at this level don't dabble, they fully commit.
