BYU doesn't make it then
BYU needs to make it to the WCC Final to be a contender. Losing to SMU would almost eliminate BYU. SMU winning the autobid over Gonzaga would guarantee BYU is out.
BYU might make the tournament losing to Gonzaga in the Final, but I wouldn't bet on it.
