Right, but the elite 8 he went to was because of Blake Griffin. Here is his coaching history with Oklahoma:

So he was almost .500, did pretty well the next year, Blake Griffin, and then 2 sub .500 years.
That's not to say he hasn't done well with USA Basketball or Duke, but I just wouldn't have a lot of confidence in him from his tenure at Oklahoma.
Either way, it'll be interesting to see what ASU does.
