Jimmer vs Delon vs Damian: by the numbers

There has been quite a bit of talk on twitter lately about Jimmer v. Delon - who would you rather have, who is the better player, who helps the team more, etc. They are such different players, it's hard to really compare, but I did a little digging and found some interesting info. I'll throw Damian in there as well for comparison purposes. Obviously you can't judge everything by the stats (lots of variables), but it's fun, so I did it.

Here is the site and links I used -

A few things really stood out to me - under the Per 100 Poss tab and the Advanced tab, the last few stats on the row. ORtg and Drtg (basically how many points the team scores per 100 possessions with the player on the court and how many points the other team scores per 100 poss with the player on the court) and then OBPM, DBPM and BPM - offensive, defensive and overall +/- points over or under the league average player.

My conclusion from all of this? Delon was/is an even better player than I realized. I knew he was really good, but the numbers show that he is statistically one of the best college players we've seen in years. In fact, Delon's spread of 42+ from ORtg (129.8) to DRtg (87.7) is the 2nd best I could find for anybody this year - only behind Anthony-Towns. (the highest I could find was Anthony Davis - something like 60+). This doesn't discount what Jimmer or Damian did in college IMO - but it does show how much a difference Wright made when he was on the floor for the utes. He was a big-time game changer. I'm glad to see him go to the NBA.
