It's kind of a catch 22
On the plus side, prospective law students can get into their school of choice easier today than in 2004 when law schools could increase their criteria for acceptance. On the downside, the outlook was rosier for law school graduates back then, whereas today's graduates are trying to get jobs in an overcrowded job market. You can get into a better school, but that doesn't change the job market.
