I get blasted on this board when I opine on players sometimes, by folks who want to compare my resume's to Rose's. But I think this move is a mistake. To me, Neilson showed a lot of promise for a freshman. He had really good games a few times during the season. The one that sticks out the most in my mind is where he got in the Utah game and really changed the momentum with a solid effort. Some criticize his lack of hops or his lack of athleticism, but I think his vertical is actually decent for his size, and his 7'3" wingspan is something you can't coach. His attitude is awesome, too - as demonstrated in Drew's article.
I'm just bummed out about this - I hope he goes on and tears it up somewhere, and makes Rose realize that he's messed up again. Again I question Rose's ability to evaluate big men - is he making room so that Shaw can come in and take his place? I'm just left scratching my head.
