My view is it never hurts a prospective pro career to leave NCAA early
It can hurt to not leave early.

D league is better for learning.

There may be other good reasons to stay in school, however. For example, a player may never become effective enough for a fulfilling pro career and he should rather stay in school and get a degree.

But if his priority is to play pro ball to the exclusion of all else, go play pro ball ASAP
