In my area, T-mobile on it's own has pretty sucky coverage.
Sprint on its own has pretty sucky coverage. Surprisingly, together they're not too bad. I might have to try this out if I ever decide to get a Nexus 6.

Probably has to do with network types. Verizon uses CDMA, everyone else uses GSM
