been extremely shortsighted and dumb before (letting Neb and Mizzou go, skipping over UL, letting Tex run wild, staying at 10, naming 2 conf champs in year 1 of "one true champ", not expanding just to keep more money for the very short term, etc).

why is this a shock? they think they can have their cake and eat it too. the CFP has been very clear...both by their decision last year and their public statements this off-season. so they're going to keep status quo until absolutely forced to change. and, quite honestly, some teams in the Big12 might make the decision for them by choosing to bolt rather than stay in their conf. the Big12 is a mess.

TCU could go 12-0 and get into CFP this year for sure...but if they lose one (which i'll be praying for) look out...it's gonna get messy. so they want to take the long-term approach? great, they'll spend the next 10 seasons figuring out what we already know...13 games and a huge money-making CCG is better than not having one...don't believe me ask the pac 10...er 12. i guess they'll all get fat and happy on the $$$ rolling in, until another P5 finally puts an end to their stupidity by poaching it. given their idiocy, i seriously think this is how it goes down. Big12 continues to refuse to change/adapt to current model (divisions, 8 conf games, a few P5 OOC games, CCG, etc) and when other P5's can't convince them they'll just destroy them.
