I am not entering into the argument. I don't eat steaks often enough, but Ruth's Chris, Morton's, Peter Flemings, were all exceptional. I don't eat at them regularly enough to have an opinion which one is best. My HCBW doesn't like red meat much, so I would prefer to buy a lot of steak dinners cooked with my BBQ talent, versus paying those prices. I do enjoy them when someone else pays though...like my employer...or some financial seminar (I get invites regularly - I can't figure out why?).

I actually got the steak for free at Stoney River by listening to a financial seminar on annuities. I don't mind spending an hour with several buddies also getting free steaks (I can usually invite between 1 and three people with me - HCBW considers it boys night out and she doesn't have to cook...) and I always like talking finances, although it gets boring sometimes when they have to talk basics.

After I finished my dinner at Stoney River, I was soooo impressed with my steak. My boss, who is MEGA RICH told me that his brother thinks it is the best Steakhouse in St Louis (and despite that, it is very reasonably priced - hopefully the reasonable pricing lasts). He is the kind of guy that probably eats a lot of steaks, so it validated my experience. My HCBW and I are going to Nashville with friends in the fall. I just noticed they have a Stoney River there - maybe I will have to try it out again at another location.

Like I said, I only ate there once, but it was a phenomenal steak menu price is about $30-35 with sides $5 or $6, but it always tastes better when it is free...

Alternatively, someone gave us a $100 gift certificate to this place: http://www.smokehousemarket.com/ where many people think it is the best steakhouse in St. Louis, but I wasn't impressed. I would never go there again.

I also had a steak once in Houston that was very good. I don't recall the name, but do recall that it was more reasonably priced than Ruth's Chris.
