Milsap's limitations are why the Jazz didn't re sign him. Many people love to criticize the Jazz for not re-signing Millsap, Korver and Carroll. With Millsap, who would you rather have as your PF, Millsap or Favors? I would take Favors all day every day of the week. It's simple really. We knew what we had in Millsap, a good but not great PF. We knew where his ceiling was and decided to take a shot on the younger guy with a higher ceiling. Favors is turning out to be a wayyyy better defender than Millsap, but not quite as good on offense yet. But, defense wins championships and the Jazz will be in a much better spot going forward with Favors than Millsap.
Korver- He is also a huge liability on defense. Yes he has a super sweet shot from outside, but sharp shooters are streaky. You live by the 3 you die by the 3. Before Korver went out with the unfortunate ankle injury, he was not shooting well and as a result Atlanta was suffering badly.
Carroll- I think the Jazz missed on that one. I don't think they, or anyone else, realized how good he was.
I wish the Jazz had considered Teague and even Shroeder. Both of those guys are so fast and so athletic. I like the future for Exum, but it's become clear that Teague and Schroeder are in a different league than all of our point guards since Stockton, with the exception of Deron Williams.
I agree that Carroll can't keep up with Lebron. But the reality is no one can keep up with Lebron. In fact, I doubt anyone in history could guard Lebron. Anybody who plays the 1-3 is too small to keep up with him and any 4 or 5 is too slow. Lebron is a wrecking ball when he gets that killer instinct going. He can have an off night, like last night where he started 0-10, and still have a huge game.
I wish Lebron didn't whine like he does.
