They have a great advantage this summer and it's only temporary. The Jazz have young talent but the bench is incredibly thin. Add a starter at the wing and suddenly the bench is looking fairly strong. If Hood or Burks emerges then you have a tradable contract.
The Phoenix situation is not analogous. The IT signing was a train wreck the second it was done. There is nothing about the Jazz back court that says there aren't enough minutes for another quality player at any of the three positions.
