If you bring in another wing, that relegates Hood to 8-10 minutes per game, and drops Burks to probably about 20 minutes per game. I don't think Middleton or Green are a big enough improvement to make that change. Alec was shooting 38% from 3 before his injury, and Rood was impressive when he finally got healthy. I like Burks' game. He isn't a great shooter, but his ability to get to the basket is hard to find, and I am excited to see what he can do in this system with a full, healthy year. I also like Hood. I think the Jazz have enough talent to make the playoffs, and I don't think Middleton or Green make them a title contender, so I like letting the young guys get more experience.
Additionally, if Gordon, Alec, and Rodney can each shoot between 36 and 40 % from 3, which they all did last year, and Exum can improve to 35-38%, that is enough options to keep defenses honest.
