This is true, but why not say no comment and privately tell sponsors that...
it's not true?

By coming out so strongly they have drawn a line in the sand, and that's very unusual for Steinberg or anyone from Tiger's team to do.

As for suing, it's the national enquirer, they do a good job at protecting themselves from lawsuits even when they know their story is not true.
