Not so sure about the exposure. Almost no one in the Bay Area is aware that
San Jose St. has a football team. And certainly no one outside of that area knows about it either. It is a complete non-entity.
Sure, that game will also be nice for the Bay Area Cougar fans to have a local game. And you are right, we can invite CA recruits to attend that game to see us play, but I suspect they would all react the same: "SJSU? Do they play in the same league as UC Davis?"
We have that game to fill out our schedule (and I prefer it over playing another Savannah St.), especially to get the home game 2017. We certainly are not playing them for exposure.
