For all of those in denial, particularly our little brothers to the north, there you have it. For all the travel excuses, the academic excuses, difficult to work with rumors, Sunday play, etc., etc. I think the challenge to joining a conference is outlined pretty well by Val Hale and why BYU is not in the PAC. Note the present tense...and its implications to current rumors and discussions.

Perhaps some of you disagree with me, but if Notre Dame had a no Sunday play policy, I think they would get into a conference any time they wanted to.

Anyone surprised by Hale's comment above? I am also pleased that he told everyone that we were all but in the B12 before. I don't think this precludes us from joining a conference now, just an extra hurdle we will always be required to jump over.
