Partly because every scene was set in a generic lab or some cheaply made planetoid or whatever that's supposed to be. The movie looked completely disengaged from the real world. Maybe that's not the case, but the trailers failed to persuade me that I should see it. At this point I would be going purely because I think Jordan and Teller are decent actors who might manage to make it interesting.
