The climatic battle was neither clever nor that cool. *spoiler*
It lasted 45 minutes with superman getting tossed into a building then General Zod getting tossed into a building. Over and over.
Even my wife turned to me and said, "You'd think they'd realize they can't kill each other?"
It was kind of a good show until the end battle, they just ran out of ideas.
Supermans big flaw is that he's powers are so cool he's boring. There is only so much you can do with kryptonite. Which is why even the Christopher Reeve and Gene Hackman films fell apart after #2.
