Of course luck can never make up for talent and preparation, but when two fairly evenly matched teams play a close game, luck can play a part. Luck won't help Savannah State beat Alabama even 1 time out of 10, but it could be a determining factor when, say, BYU plays Cal, Memphis, or UCF.
