Checking some math
An agreement with DirecTV could make the Pac-12 Networks available to another 4 million subscribers, according to The Mercury News, and generate another $2.9 million per school annually.

$2.9M per school = $34.8M per year from DirecTV?

Only available in $4M more homes so $34.8M / $4M = $8.70 per subscriber...

Yeah I wouldn't want to pay that amount either especially when it appears ESPN is only $6.61, ESPN2 $0.83, FS1 $0.99, etc

Basically $8.70 is ridiculous (and can't be real) so something in the statement above can't be true as this link shows P12NW at $0.39. Even if they charged that x7 for each channel that would still only be $2.73. So there really isn't a way for the "available" (which doesn't mean certainty they will subscribe) 4 million they reference to generate $34.8M total to allow for it to be an additional $2.9M per school.

Note that BTN gets $1 in their footprint. SEC gets $1.30 in their footprint. Based on average of inside footprint and outside footprint they are estimated on average at $0.39 and $0.66 respectively for subscriber fees.
