What about cases in which a person has had pain, etc., for years (or decades),
treatment by physicians, with medication, etc., have not been effective, and the problem only went away after chiropractic treatment?

So there's no misunderstanding, I'm not trying to be confrontational. It's an honest question. I've gone back and forth with my view of chiropractic treatment over the years, but I know enough people to whom the above circumstances apply (including myself) that I currently lean heavily in favor of giving it the thumbs up. (Not so keen on the New Age hippie stuff that sometimes gets tacked onto it, although a holistic approach to health in and of itself is perfectly reasonable. As long as it doesn't involve drum circles or drawing pictures of my emotions. That's not holistic. That's just weird.) At this point I don't think it's an all-or-nothing issue, so, I'm interested in the explanations provided from both sides of the debate.
