It's harder than it looks, but I don't disagree. One of my friends, who is now a
successful designer and art director in San Francisco, did the Springville devil logo when he was in school there. Later on when he was in college I believe he did some additional design/brand stuff for them because he enjoyed it and wanted to "give back" to his alma mater.

That's the kind of thing I wish was more common.
