He's trying to get clicks. He knows that people can go everywhere and anywhere
for BYU football related content. As far as strictly football related content goes, there is almost no way for him to differentiate himself (and the trib) from the competition. What's he going to do, write better?

Why would anybody go specifically to the trib? None of the media members get to see anything that the rest of them didn't get to see. Anybody can get the full audio from the practices so there's no reason to read anybody's report.

Fortunately for him and the tribune: scandals get clicks, and BYU football always has a fresh supply of of dirt for him to dig up.
