That's only partly true. A guy with more sense and vision would have
talked them down.
It was an asinine position to begin with.
He is paid (vastly overpaid) to be the fall-guy, now it's time he takes the ultimate fall and loses his job.
Any semblance of credibility he had is now gone. He needs to go.
