Parents/athletes don't care that much about education now. Why would it change?
You don't see blue chip guys lining up to go to Stanford/Duke/Northwestern/Vanderbilt/Notre Dame/Cal/UCLA (all Top 25 US News schools). well, at least the ones who do go to those schools largely do it for football reasons, other than Stanford.
