Question for other Youth Football Coaches...
Our boys are coming down the final stretch of the season. We practice three days a week with an additional day of walkthrough on Friday with a game Saturday. I'm concerned that our practices are becoming stale as we have a pretty sizable playbook that our boys really have pretty mastered at this point. Their execution is solid and they have learned their defensive assignments very well also. I don't want to add any additional plays as we already have so many that I don't want to confuse them by adding more. The question is this. Do we shorten time of practice or lessen the amount of days we practice or should we do something else to keep them sharp? I don't want them to lose focus now after having put so much effort to get to this point, but practice is become stale from running the same drills and plays for the last four months. Any recommendations from you arm chair QBs?
