Not so sure it is fear... there is just WAY more upside for BYU in that matchup
than there is for Utah.
If I were in their shoes, I wouldn't want to play us either.
That being said, KW has absolutely owned Bronco, and I'm sure KW would convince his team that they have been disrespected, and would have them fired up for the game... whereas Bronco would treat it as just another game on the schedule.
