this and other problems-- never another GM/Chevy product for me again.. Also owned problem Suburban, Blazer, and Safari Van in the past.. Compared to my Toyota Sequoia I now own I would call them all junk

I would guess it's cheaper to get a salvage rear end, but never hurts to check
