Myth-Busting. Bronco's record against P-5 opponents.
I work under the assumption that the most vocal critics of Bronco, are those that have the least personal experience with football. One of the really wacky criticism's is that Bronco's record against P-5 opponents does not meet the win percentage one would expect from a P-5 peer.

I went back and looked at the opponent, the location and the outcome of all BYU games since 2005 which meet the P-5 criteria. This includes the yewt games played beginning in the 2012 season. I might have missed something here or there since I was looking up and tabulating on my phone, but the jist of it is this:

38 games played.
At LES 7 wins out of 10 attempts. 70% win percentage.
8 "neutral site" games, including games that aren't really neutral like OU in Dallas, Missou in KC and UW in San Fran. 4 wins. 50% win percentage.
20 true away games, 7 wins. 35% win percentage.

From this you can ascertain, that if half of our P-5 games (that were not neutral sited) were played at LES, Bronco's win percentage would be slightly higher that 50%. Or in other words, in keeping with what you would expect from a middle of the road P-5 team (a team with an average ranking of around 35) playing it's peers on even ground. I might also add, that the first season he fielded his worst team, a losing team from the 3 previous years that he had to teach how to win again. We lost to all three of those P-5 opponents including the BC game in Provo that elicited my favorite Bronco troll of all-time, the calling out of the Pharisees.
