theory, he could not be eligible if he fails his finals. BYU, being BYU, isn't willing to call him eligible until he actually passes all of his classes. As far as I know there is nothing to indicate that he would have any trouble doing this, just the school being careful. Kind of like when they held Luke Staley out of the New Mexico game in 2001 because there MIGHT have been an issue with one of his classes.
