A buddy of mine was helping put on some marathon years ago and was stationed at
the starting line. A man in his 50s came up to get his number to pin on his shirt when he suddenly bent over for several seconds and grimaced. Then he straightened up and picked up his number.

My friend asked him if he was ok, and the man said that he was fine, but he was just passing a kidney stone. Apparently this was a common occurrence for him, so he had learned to just deal with it. He wasn't going to let that interfere with his marathon.

Some people are just plain crazy.
