That the whole thing could have been solved if someone had a gun. Or made worse if someone had a gun. Or avoided in the first place if someone had a gun. Or some combination of those three. But the important thing to remember is that until we've used this isolated incident as the basis of a wholly unrelated platform to support 2nd Amendment Rights and/or promote common sense gun measures, our work is not yet done.
