Enough to stay alive. I hated water too and preferred soda, then after
years of water neglect some bad things happened. Lets just say when I finally fully hydrated my body for the first time, all the soda cravings went away. From my experience, if you hate water and crave sugar you are just dehydrated. Drink the water first and you won't want the soda afterwards.
