I've also noticed the 1-3-1
Seems to invite triple teams on the trap. Triple team=high risk/high reward.

Having KC at the top invites the opposing guard to go left wing or right wing, protecting the middle. However, when KC, our wing player, and the middle player of the 1-3-1 all converge on the ball handler, the corners and opposite wing are left wide open.

The triple team is tough to break but once they they do there's wide open looks to be had...saw that several times tonight. Good guards invite and anticipate the double/triple team and pass to open area just as it's applied.

I like our 1-3-1 as it's produced some good results and is a change that sometimes takes a team multiple possessions to figure out and about the time they do they switch back to man keeping the other team off balance.
