I think while 1 and 2 made 3 possible, 3 is the whole reason 1 and 2 were so
significant. The put us in a position to be respected as an athletic program. But as long as we weren't in a major conference, 1 and 2 still feel incomplete.
Look at us - 30 years after a national championship, still scratching and clawing for the respect that being in a major conference will bring as a matter of course.
