I do believe BYU is much more respected nationwide than many BYU fans aver. There are few news outlets that spill their liberal views into the sports column, and from my perspective, a majority of sports fans generally appreciate and respect BYU's commitment to running an ethical and moral program. It's not difficult to find examples of real or perceived LDS persecution. Who cares? It's a minority sentiment.
