I would hope he is condescending, there are a bunch of hacks in Utah
Any columnist and ex-BYU or Utah football player thinks they can be a broadcaster because in Utah they are given a radio show. The two best (maybe the only) broadcast journalists in the Utah market are Greg Wrubell and Craig Bolerjack. There probably aren't enough legit broadcasters to staff one sports radio station in the SLC/Provo market, let alone four.
The same goes for columnists towards the new generation of bloggers that call themselves media.
