I think of all the loses to BYU in recent memory, the 2001 game is the one I can't watch. In 2000, I had respect for Lavell and actually didn't think Utah deserved to be ahead. In 2006, BYU was better and, well, Beck made a huge play you have to respect. My seats are on the 5 yard line on that end and I just had to smile. In 2009, that was slugfest.

But 2001? Up 21-10, against the 8th ranked team, in your house, WITH the ball and 4:00 left and lose? Good grief. It speaks to game management and I think Kyle has it better than Mac ever did. I suspect KS will be a great head coach in managing those situations.

Of course, Utah did run the pass back to the guard (Jordan Gross) on 4th and 10 after BYU went up 24-21. That was fun....but Lance Rice's arm... Gilford with the pick?
