Look it's called a freshman hat. But since everyone thinks it's a sailor hat
The name has stuck. Do a google and you will find 20+ other schools with a similar logo back in the 80's

I don't like the ROC, but it's better than the Muss. Sounds like a bathroom accident or a bad haircut in the 1930's
