Dad worked for my uncle's construction company in Wyoming. After a number of companies took too long to pay for work done, the construction company struggled to raise enough money to pay taxes. Because my dad was the accountant, the IRS came after him personally. He reached out to Congressman Cheney who took care of the problem. The construction company then was sold to pay off the IRS. I don't know Dick Cheney personally, but he made a big difference to my family.
